Diamond-shaped 14k & yellow gold filled (YGF) engraved pocket watch chain fob, handsome 14k gold (tested) fully engraved top plate with detailed geometric & floral designs around a fancy blank monogram shield has been secured into a smooth polish YGF base with a sturdy top connector loop, gold plate is a slightly cooler yellow color from the base however the colors are complimentary, fob is showing normal light wear with very little smoothing or scratches on the engraving however a small line of brass is starting on the edges, additionally there are a few small spots of discoloration at the base of the connector loop, likely from some repair work, measures approx. 23mm wide x 26mm tall x 1mm thick, weighs approx. 1.7dwt. Our educated guess is that this a jeweler's project that allowed a small section of gold jewelry or of a watch case to be saved as part of the fob design; it is very well constructed with the seam between the gold & YGF sections expertly finished. A lovely vintage watch chain fob from the early to mid-1900s in excellent overall condition!
