Description:

7.5" yellow gold filled (YGF) mixed link straight pocket watch chain with a button-hole finding, attractive very light weight mixed link YGF chain has long rectangular smooth polish tubes interconnected with short lengths of small oval links to comprise the entire length of the chain, finished on one end with a lovely YGF round button-hole finding, finding has deep floral engraving around the edge and a fancy monogram, possibly the letter "I", in the center, opposite end is finished with a small YGF swivel, chain is showing normal even wear with the rectangular links having a number of small repairs on the end loops, overall length is approx. 190mm, rectangular links measure approx. 2x19mm, oval links measure approx. 2x2.5mm.

There are 14k marks on each of the rectangular links, however our testing of the various chain components were not able to confirm that karat. The repairs to the ends of the links may have interfered with our tests however the oval links were tested as gold filled and this may have been a jeweler's project to save some gold components from a high quality chain that was no longer useable. Due to the issues with the testing results we are selling this item as a high quality gold filled.

A lovely, high quality vintage pocket watch chain from the mid-1900s in excellent overall condition!
