Waltham 16S 23J lever set (LS) adj. 5p Vanguard pocket watch #23100720, beautiful nickel bridge movement with raised gold jewel settings (GJS), a gold center wheel, a diamond endstone and an elaborate checkerboard and fancy concentric circle damaskeen pattern, white fancy enamel single sunk (SS) dial with black fancy Arabic numbers, black minute markers with gold filigree accents around the outer edge, a black-marked subsidiary seconds register at 6 o'clock and a delicate gold filigree floral design around the center post, dial has some small spots of discoloration that can be seen when held at an angle, possibly factory defects or acid marks, along with some small specks of discoloration in the second bit, but no hairlines, blue steel spade & whip style hands.

Re-cased into a heavy fully engraved yellow gold filled (YGF) screw back & bezel (SB&B) case with crisp engine turning behind the elaborate art nouveau style floral & geometric engraved designs at 12, 6 and around the fancy blank monogram shield, heavy sculpted pendant supporting a slightly recessed crown, large fancy bow and a glass crystal, case is showing light normal wear with some light smoothing to the engraving at the edges and a few small spots of brass on the interior of the bow, additionally the crystal does have a few scratches across the surface, we can replace the crystal with a new plastic one at no charge on request, measures approx. 49mm in diameter x 67mm in length x 13mm thick (crystal included). While this watch has been finished as a dress watch, it is also a railroad grade model and can be expected to keep excellent time. A high grade, beautifully finished railroad grade Waltham from the early 1900s in excellent+ overall condition!
