Description:
Hamilton 16S 21J lever set (LS) adj. 5p grade 992 pocket watch #2483485, handsome nickel split plate movement with screw-down gold jewel settings (GJS), gold center wheel and a bar-style damaskeen pattern, SS porcelain enamel Montgomery dial with bold fancy Arabic numbers, red & black 1-60 minute markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some faint hairlines, blue steel spade & whip style hands, attractive yellow gold filled (YGF) smooth polish screw back & bezel (SB&B) salesman's glass back & bezel (GB&B) display case with deeply engraved bezels supporting a circle & bar pattern, heavy short pendant with a slightly recessed crown and a large fancy engraved bow, we believe this may be a modified Hamilton model #14 case as the frame and bezel designs are very similar to a standard case but we have never seen a salesman's display case like this from the Hamilton factory, indicating it may be a well done jeweler's project that expertly fit or cut a matching display bezel to the back of the frame, case is showing normal moderate wear with thin lines of brass starting to show on the frame, bezels, pendant and bow, measures approx. 50mm in diameter x 65mm in length x 17mm thick (crystals included). A high quality railroad grade Hamilton that is running great, a perfect watch to showcase in a display case with the beautifully finished movement, from the 1920s in very good overall condition, perfect to carry and show off!
