Gruen 17J Precision grade 220 ladies' wrist watch, case #519945 model #220-166, vintage mechanical manual-wind nickel split plate movement with bold red ruby jewels, silver-toned metal dial with raised silver Arabic numbers and chevron-style markers has some heavy patina across the surface, slender silver steel baton style hands, elaborate white base metal (WBM) & stainless steel (SS) oval case with a deeply sculpted bezel supporting a flat-topped plastic crystal and raised faceted chevron-shaped extended lugs, case is showing normal even wear with some small lines of brass on both lugs and some small spots of discoloration near the lugs on the frame, measures approx. 17mm wide x 27mm lug to lug x 7mm thick (crystal included), distinctive WBM & SS expansion band with "Z" shaped segments with engraved details along the edge create the entire length of the band, band is showing light even wear. A high grade Gruen from the mid-1900s, still very eye-catching even with the cosmetic flaws, in very good overall condition!
