Waltham 6S 15J lever set (LS) adj. ladies' pocket watch #3099066, beautiful nickel split-plate movement with an unusual plate layout, brass filigree plate securing the top of the pallet fork and a distinctive circle damascene pattern with a matte finish on the center of the main plate, marked "American Waltham Watch Co.", mint single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel dial with fancy Arabic-style numbers and a subsidiary seconds register, marked "A. W. Co. Waltham", blue steel spade-style hands, re-cased in an impressive 18k gold fully engraved hunting case (HC) with crisp vermicelli engraving studded with faceted 5-point stars on both covers, back cover is entirely this pattern while the front cover has a large circular smooth polish monogram shield with a coin-edge detail with the engraving pattern surrounding it and a fancy monogram, possibly "MAM", frame has a similar matching engraving but with deeply engraved diamond shapes instead of stars, glass crystal, dust cover has an elaborate pattern of deeply engraved open-bloom flowers, case is showing only very light wear, measures approx. 39mm in diameter x 57mm in length x 13mm thick. A very high quality, gold cased watch from the 1880s in excellent+ condition in a case that must been seen to be fully appreciated!
