Hamilton 16S 17J lever set (LS) adj. 5p grade 972 pocket watch #1504536, attractive nickel split plate movement with screw-down gold jewel settings (GJS) and an elaborate crosshatch & wavy circle damascene pattern, double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with bold fancy Arabic numbers, red Arabic 5 minute markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some spots of discoloration and a rough patch near the lever but no hairlines, blue steel spade style hands, re-cased into a handsome yellow base metal (YBM) fully engraved screw back & bezel (SB&B) case with varying vertical line engraving around a fancy blank monogram shield, deep floral engraving on the bezel & frame, short pendant with a recessed crown, large fancy bow with floral engraving and a glass crystal, case is showing normal even wear with some light smoothing to the engraving and a bit of discoloration on the crown & bow from wear, measures approx. 49mm in diameter x 62mm in length x 13mm thick (crystal included). An high grade Hamilton railroad grade watch from the 1920s in excellent+ overall condition!
