Illinois 16S 21J lever set (LS) hunting case movement (HCM) grade 174 pocket watch #2213038, beautiful nickel split plate movement with screw-down jewel settings, a gold train & center wheel and a wavy line damascene pattern, double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with fancy Arabic numbers, red Arabic 5 minute markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some faint hairlines, blue steel spade & whip style hands.
Re-cased into an impressive fully engraved yellow gold filled (YGF) screw back & bezel (SB&B) case with tight engine turning behind the large floral & geometric patterns, a large fancy monogram shield with floral accents is on the left side of the case, a line of coin edge engraving on the bezels, a slightly recessed crown, heavy bow and a glass crystal, case is showing normal even wear with some light smoothing to the engraving near the edge, some small nicks along the front bezel & frame and some shallow depressions on the back cover that you must turn to catch the light to see, additionally it appears the bow is a yellow base metal (YBM) replacement to the case and does have a few small spots of discoloration starting to show, measures approx. 49mm in diameter x 66mm in length x 13mm thick (crystal included). A lovely example of a high quality vintage Illinois from the early 1900s in excellent overall condition!
