Waltham 16S 21J lever set (LS) adj. 5p grade No. 645 pocket watch #17178470, beautiful nickel bridge movement with screw-down raised gold jewel settings (GJS), gold center wheel, a gold star (Church) regulator and an elaborate concentric circle damascene pattern, single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel dial with large bold Arabic numbers, black minute markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has a faint hairline at 4 o'clock and a small nick at the edge of the dial by the lever, bold blue steel spade & whip style hands.
Re-cased into a heavy yellow gold filled (YGF) screw back & bezel (SB&B) case with large floral & geometric engraved designs around the fancy blank monogram shield on the back, heavy sculpted pendant with a large bow and a glass crystal, case is showing normal even wear with some notable smoothing to the engraving, a few small spots of brass on the frame, pendant and front bezel and some light tool marks on the frame under the bezel by the lever where the case was filed to make it easier to pull the lever out to the time-set position, additionally the bow is in good shape however it is a slight different color than the case and is likely a replacement, measures approx. 50mm in diameter x 67mm in length x 13mm thick (crystal included). An attractive, high grade Waltham railroad grade watch, one of the prettier movements from this company, from the early 1900s in excellent overall condition!
