H. Samuel, Manchester (1862-) 44mm 7J key wind pocket watch #N132068, case #68 19 (inner case) & #132068 19 (outer case), handsome gilt full pillar plate fusee movement with a brushed finish, a geometrically engraved balance bridge and a yellow base metal (YBM) removable cover with a steel slide latch, porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register is marked "H. Samuel Market St. Manchester", dial does have a small hairline at 6 o'clock along with a few spots of discoloration, gold steel spade & whip style hands.
Heavy Sterling silver hinge back & bezel (HB&B) swing out case with full engine turning on the back around a smooth polish circular medallion in the center with a fancy blank monogram shield within, coin edge frame, large bow and offset hinges, hallmarks on both cases are the lion (Sterling .925), crown (Birmingham), fancy lowercase "q" (1891) and H*S (maker), case is showing normal wear with small scratches, scuffs, some smoothing to the engraving in places, a shallow dent on the frame and a weak but functioning lift spring on the outer back cover, currently the case also has a fair amount of patina, we can clean and polish the case at no additional charge on request but have left the naturally aged patina for the preference of some customers, measures approx. 52mm in diameter x 74mm in length x 19mm thick (crystal included). A handsome, high quality vintage triple signed watch from the 1890s in excellent overall condition!
