Wittnauer 17J grade 9WN wrist watch, case #W176729, vintage mechanical manual-wind movement, single sunk (SS) champagne-toned metal dial with a brushed finish, a border of tight raised lined near the edge and under the raised gold Arabic numbers & markers and a square black-marked subsidiary seconds register has a number of small specks of discoloration across the surface along with some light patina starting on the numbers & markers, slender gold steel baton-style hands with pointed tips.
Elaborate yellow gold filled (YGF) rectangular case with a narrow sloped bezel supporting a lightly domed glass crystal, unusual concave detailing on the top & bottom of the frame and slightly raised slender extended lugs that then have knob-like detailing near the band giving the impression of a hinged or screw-down style, case is showing light even wear with a few very small scratches and a few specks across the back surface, measures approx. 24mm wide x 36mm lug to lug x 10mm thick (crystal included), heavily textured dark brown leather strap band. This watch also comes with a nice generic red leatherette box with a white satin & white velvet interior. An amazing, high quality vintage Wittnauer in one of the most distinctive cases we've seen from this company from the mid-1900s in excellent+ overall condition!
