Clinton 17J grade CHX wrist watch, handsome nickel split plate vintage mechanical manual-wind movement with bold red ruby jewels and a raised conversion bridge to add the sweep second hand, distinctive copper-colored metal dial with a brushed finish, luminous Arabic numbers, black minute marker register on the outer edge with 1/5 second sub-markers and a thin concentric ring of polished copper finish between the register and the numbers, dial has some small spots of discoloration and some light patina in places, skeletonized blue steel baton style hands with tapered pointed tips and luminous inserts and a red sweep second hand, the material from the minute hand is missing and none of the luminous materials are retaining or emitting light as expected.
Heavy stainless steel (SS) round smooth polish water-resistant case with a rounded bezel supporting a heavy domed plastic crystal and slender fancy triangular extended lugs, case is showing light normal wear with a few light scuffs however the crown is showing discoloration from use, measures approx. 28mm in diameter x 36mm lug to lug x 11mm thick (crystal included), thick brown leather strap band with a rounded lug tabs that support the tightly braided design, the braiding also allows for a wider range of wearable length, from approx. 140mm to 230mm. An attractive high grade watch from the 1940s with some interesting cosmetic finishes in excellent+ overall condition!
