Elgin 18S 11J key wind grade 13 pocket watch #1618833, classic gilt full plate movement with a deeply engraved balance bridge and a brushed finish, single sunk (SS) porcelain enamel dial with Roman numerals, a black minute marker register on the outer edge and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some very small faint hairlines and a tiny flake at the edge of the dial at 3 o'clock, blue steel spade style hands, re-cased into a heavy smooth polish white base metal (WBM) hinge back & bezel (HB&B) case with offset gold recessed hinges, an extra large heavy bow and an extra thick glass crystal, case is showing normal even wear with a number of small spots of discoloration and a few very light scratches on the crystal, we can replace the crystal with a new beveled plastic crystal at no charge on request, measures approx. 57mm in diameter x 82mm in length x 20mm thick (crystal included). An impressive early Elgin from the 1880s in excellent overall condition!
