Elgin 18S 21J lever set (LS) adj. 5p Father Time grade 274 pocket watch #11587543, impressive nickel split plate movement with screw-down raised gold jewel settings (GJS), diamond endcap and an elaborate concentric circle damascene pattern, double sunk (DS) porcelain enamel dial with bold Arabic numbers, red 5 minute Arabic markers and a black-marked subsidiary seconds register has some faint hairlines, blue steel spade style hands.
Re-cased into a heavy yellow gold filled (YGF) smooth polish demi-hunting case (demi-HC) with blue enamel Roman numerals around the center aperture allowing you to view the time without opening the front case, coin edge frame and a heavy bow, case is marked "14k Stiffened" however that is not a marking we have seen for solid gold content so we are selling this as a gold filled watch, which is also reflected in the condition notes, case is showing normal wear with some small spots of brass on the bezels, frame, pendant and bow, a few small scuffs on the small plastic crystal and a number of small nicks and spots of discoloration on the interior of the case from gold testing efforts, measures approx. 54mm in diameter x 77mm in length x 17mm thick (top crystal included). A very high grade Elgin with one of it's nicest finished movements from the early 1900s in excellent overall condition!
