Movado 40mm 15J adj. 2p pocket watch, case #S27740 4711, handsome nickel split plate movement with a fancy plate layout, screw-down jewel settings and a bar-style damascene pattern, distinctive metal dial with a mother of pearl (MoP) overlay, raised gold fancy Arabic numbers, black-marked outer minute markers and a black-marked seconds register, we can not find any cracks or heavy scratches on the MoP however a few of the numbers have a bit of patina and the black markings near the "60" on the seconds register have been damaged, gold steel open diamond style hands.
Ultra-thin 14k (marked) hinge back (HB) smooth polish Movado case with narrow tapered bezels, a fancy triangular bow, a slightly recessed crown, glass crystal and an elaborate Grand Prix engraving on the dust cover, case is showing normal light wear however there is a small spot of discoloration near the hinge and also on the back case lip, we believe these are heat marks where the case has had repairs, measures approx. 43mm in diameter x 58mm in length x 8mm thick (crystal included), weighs approx. 29.2dwt (movement included). This watch also comes with a John Wanamaker brown velvet jeweler's box with a pale yellow satin & fitted velvet interior. A beautiful triple signed example of an opera-style dress watch from the mid-1900s in excellent+ overall condition!
