Gruen (Swiss) 17J Precision grade 440 wrist watch #A4299, case #G766390 440 448, vintage mechanical manual-wind nickel split plate movement with gilt lettering and bold red ruby jewels has a slightly curved plate design to mirror the case, champagne-toned metal dial with raised gold Arabic-style numbers and markers and a black marked subsidiary seconds register is marked "Gruen Curvex Precision", dial does have some small specks of discoloration along with some light patina starting across the center, sleek gold steel baton-style hands with pointed tips.

Elegant long rectangular yellow gold filled (YGF) Curvex-model smooth polish case with a gently sloped wide bezel supporting a lightly domed glass crystal, tapered extended lugs and a Gruen-marked crown, back of the case has a notable curve to allow a more comfortable fit on the wearers' wrist, case is showing normal even wear overall with a few small spots of brass starting on the lugs and a small spot of scuffing on the crystal, measures approx. 22mm wide x 41mm lug to lug x 9mm thick (crystal included), fancy YGF & stainless steel (SS) bracelet-style band with a mesh-link style design for the length of the band, long YGF & SS clasp with vertical line engraving has an expansion feature that allows the band to be extended, for a wearable length between 6 1/4" and 7", band is showing normal even wear overall but does have some brass and scratches on the clasp. A very attractive, classic style vintage watch from the 1940s in excellent overall condition!
